Brisbane (Meanjin)— or “Brissy” as it’s affectionately known — is the capital of Queensland and has a small, but active, gay scene.

We would first like to acknowledge the traditional owners of this land, the Turrbal and Yuggera peoples. We pay our respects to the elders past and present, and acknowledge their continued connection to the land, water and customs of this area.

What it lacks in dedicated gay cruise clubs, gay bars, gay cafes or gay restaurants it makes up for in a packed calendar of LGBTQ events and festivals and a host of lgbtq+ social clubs that mean you’ll never be far from your rainbow family.
